Kaczynski has stated that joining the euro would be “economic suicide”
Jaroslaw Kaczynski said adopting the euro would be “economic suicide”, as European leaders battled to save the floundering common currency.
Speaking at a press conference the Law and Justice (PiS) leader, who has never been especially enthusiastic about the currency, made clear his opposition to ditching the zloty.
“When it comes to joining the euro-zone there are no conditions at all for it at the moment; this would be economic suicide,” he said. “Such a proposal today is not a viable option.”
