Retail spending is up on last year
Despite almost two-thirds of Poles believing that the country is “in crisis” (see business briefs), people are continuing to spend more of their hard-earned in shops.
Recent figures published by TVN suggest that during September, retail sales actually increased 11.4 percent since the same time last year and 1.3 percent since the month previous.
More specifically, according to estimates by news agency PAP, sales last month in non-specialised stores rose 29 percent year-on-year and spending on fuel increased by 20.9 percent.
