Police were forced to shoot the man after he attempted to attack them with an axe
A Ukrainian man was shot by police in Warsaw this week after he apparently threatened them with an axe.
The 38-year-old man, known only as ‘Marek’ is reported to have been acting aggressively towards members of the public when he was first approached by officers.
“He was attacking people in a courtyard,” says police spokesman Maciej Karczynski on TVN24. “He then turned on the officers ... They tried to subdue him with gas but it was not effective. The officers then fired warning shots and then shot him in the leg.”
