Legia have progressed to the next stage while Wisla are out
Thursday night’s Europa League matches were an emotional roller-coaster for the two Polish teams involved. Legia reached the last 32 with an eventful 3-1 win over Rapid Bucharest at home. Meanwhile, Wisla are almost certain to be eliminated despite a spirited display against an ultimately superior Fulham side.
First up was Legia who prevailed against the 10 men of Rapid after Alexa was sent off for a brutal foul on Zyro. Legia themselves were reduced to 10, but after 80 minutes. It still took the Legionnaires until the 53 minute to open the scoring.
