A new building at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow has been voted the world’s best concrete building in the Cemex Building Awards.

Reports in Gazeta Wyborcza state that the new edition beat off competition from 643 other buildings which were listed in three categories; residential, public and industrial and urban constructions.

The building was constructed between April 2008 - September 2011 and its 4,00m2 space features exhibitions, a cinema, library, cafe and conference room.

“It’s a great honour for us and the entire project team,” says Bartlomiej Kisielewski, co-owner of Horizon Studio. “It shows that Poland is creating things that are recognised around the globe.” ...
