75 percent of Poles state they contribute financially to their parish
A new survey states that 95 percent of Poles consider themselves ‘Catholic’, while over 50 percent class themselves as ‘practicing Catholics’.
The study, conducted by CBOS and broadcast on TVN24, shows that while statistics are relatively high, there has been a drop in recent years.
The number of ‘Catholics’ is down 2 percent since 2008 and the number that class themselves as ‘devout Catholics’ is down from 11 percent to 7 percent over the same period.
Three quarters of those asked claim they financially support their parish in some way, meaning the number who don’t has risen 5 percent to 25 percent.
