A priest made headlines this week by submitting his CV to the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) with the aim of becoming party leader.

In a week that has witnessed a number of high-profile political stories (ranging from the expulsion of Mr Ziobro and others from Law and Justice (PiS) to Donald Tusk’s new government), the news stands out as something of an oddity.

Reports on TVN24 state that Father Jacek Stryczek sent off his CV to the centre-left party, highlighting both his experience and dedication in the field of social work.
