Poland’s footballers lurched towards the rapidly approaching Euro 2012 with minimal optimism after a lesson from the Italians in effectiveness then a slightly better display against Hungary. The atmosphere around the team, though, continues to be soured by the row over the new strip; with fans, politicians, ex-players, Olympic athletes and even current players weighing in to criticise the lack of the Eagle, replaced with the symbol of the much-disliked Polish FA (PZPN) [see below.
