The study shows that 71 percent of people between 15-49 make love at least once a week
New statistics published in Gazeta Wyborcza this week claim that 75 percent of Poles are satisfied with their sex life.
The “Polish Sexuality 2011” research, carried out by Professor. Zbigniew Izdebski and pharmaceutical firm Polpharmy, also found that Poles had sex on average two or three times a week and that the most sexually active people were aged between 25-30.
The report shows that 71 percent of people aged 15-49 enjoyed intercourse at least once a week and that as few as 5 percent of men and 4 percent of women stated they had sex on a daily basis.
Perhaps one of the most surprising figures thrown up by the study was the number of sexual partners Poles has during their lifetime. While many would probably claim to have a lot more, the average number, according to the research, was in fact as few as four.
On the topic of cheating, one in nine women went to bed with somebody else behind their partner’s back, while the number of men was much higher at one in five. The main reason given for the act of betrayal was “a lack of self esteem”.
Another interesting statistic was that 20 percent of schoolboys between 15-17 have used a prostitute and 49 percent of men and 38 percent of women admitted to looking on the internet for ‘erotic material’. Ten percent claimed to have slept with someone they have met online and 5 percent have experimented with cyber sex.
When it came to homosexual relationships, 25 percent believed going to bed with someone of the same sex was ‘normal’ and 35 percent of respondents stated people should do everything in their power to change their preferences if they were gay.
