Ziobro is now aiming to "win over the Polish right"
Opposition party Law and Justice (PiS) upheld its decision to expel three of its prominent MPs after each sat before a committee late last week.
According to TVN24, MEPs Zbigniew Ziobro, Jacek Kurski and Tadeusz Cymanski were all ousted on the grounds that they were “detrimental to Law and Justice” and had “violated their status” after Mr Ziobro suggested the party needed to alter its strategies or risk splitting apart.
Eighteen other PiS MPs have since left the party to show their allegiance to the new breakaway group Solidarna Polska (United Poland), headed by Mr Ziobro.
“It’s time for a new opening. Our aim is to win the Polish right,” stated the former justice minister.
