Opposition party Law and Justice (PiS) upheld its decision to expel three of its prominent MPs after each sat before a committee late last week.

According to TVN24, MEPs Zbigniew Ziobro, Jacek Kurski and Tadeusz Cymanski were all ousted on the grounds that they were “detrimental to Law and Justice” and had “violated their status” after Mr Ziobro suggested the party needed to alter its strategies or risk splitting apart.

Eighteen other PiS MPs have since left the party to show their allegiance to the new breakaway group Solidarna Polska (United Poland), headed by Mr Ziobro.

“It’s time for a new opening. Our aim is to win the Polish right,” stated the former justice minister.

They can't do any worse than past Polish governments. It may even be a breath of fresh air blowing across Poland.

Mike, Your comment doesn't make sense. Do you have any grasp of Polish current events? Solidarna Polska does not lead the government. The group broke away from the opposition party. And it certainly doesn't represent a "breath of fresh air blowing across Poland." Ziobro and company came to the realization PiS cannot win an election with Kaczynski at the helm, which is obvious. But Ziobro has the backing of Tadeusz Rydzyk which indicates Solidarna Polska is hardly a "breath of fresh air" but is the same tired, Endecja-rooted, far-right, xenophobic reactionism we've seen from PiS and Liga Polskich Rodzin.

A breath of fresh air blowing across Poland? Are you serious? Or is that intended to be ironic?

More like the stench of intolerance, with a big dollop of anti semitism and homophobia to complete the foul odour.

You could only describe this bunch of extreme right wingers, as a breath of fresh air, if you consider your own British National Party, English Defence League and UKIP to be anything other than neo fascists and Little Englanders.
