Ziobro claims his new party will be up and running early next year
There were reports this week on TVN that former Law and Justice MP Zbigniew Ziobro plans to create his new political party early in the new year.
The United Poland party (SP) will feature a number of fellow breakaway MPs who were recently expelled from, or have left Law and Justice (PiS) after falling out of favour with leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
“At some point during the beginning of 2012, we aim to create our new political formation. This will give us the opportunity to win over the Polish right wing,” said Mr Ziobro in a recent speech.
He continued, “Today we have the weak ruling of Civic Platform (PO), Palikot’s fraudulent idea of our country’s identity and our country’s culture and Mr Sikorski’s proposals to liquidate the Polish state and begin constructing a European federal state. With all this in mind, Poland needs real professionals, who harbour real values and an objective, clear right-wing ideal”
He went on to add that family values are one of the issues that will sit high on his new party’s list.
“The issue of families should be an important part of every Polish party, and it is not. We will help turn pro-family policy into a fundamental matter of priority.”
