There was embarrassment amongst the ranks of Civic Platform (PO) this week as PM Tusk was forced to travel to the European People’s Party congress without three of the party’s top dogs due to confusion over the dates.

Delegates from all around Europe were invited to attend the Marseille congress to vote on what urgent action should be taken to help try and stabilise the current Eurozone crisis including French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Poland’s Donald Tusk.

However according to TVN24, due to a mix up over the exact dates, three of Poland’s most important figures - Ewa Kopacz, Grzegorz Schetyna and Cezary Grabarczyk - did not attend, leaving the Prime Minister to fly without some of his most trusted aides.
