It's hoped that Poland will be include on the route late next year
A new train connection between Moscow and Paris is set to start next Monday, however there will be no passenger stops in Poland, despite it passing through the country.
Reports on TVN24 state that the luxurious train features three carriages with double and single compartments, bathrooms, a separate bar area and will travel between the two cities three times a week.
But the only stops scheduled in Poland are in Warsaw, for technical purposes and to stock up on supplies.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, one of the main reasons that no passengers will be able to board in the capital - or indeed any of the country’s stations - is that Russian authorities did not agree to tickets being sold for the journey in Poland.
However, despite initial breakdowns over ticket sales, it is believed that Poles will be able to get on board late next year.
“We hope that this train will be available for Polish passengers by December 2012,” says Malgorzata Sitkowska, a spokeswoman for PKP Intercity.
