Fabianski was forced to leave the pitch after clashing with his own player
Arsenal’s other Polish goalkeeper, Lukasz Fabianski was given a rare chance to impress in Tuesday night’s dead rubber for the London side against Olympiakos. Unfortunately, he failed to take it, being at fault for the Greek side’s first goal, before leaving the pitch early in the first half injured.
“He has a deep gash in the knee,” explained Wenger after the match. It was the more galling that the injury came as a result of a clash with his own player, Thomas Vermaelen. Fabianski was ousted by Wojciech Szczesny from the number one spot at Arsenal after being injured in a warm-up routine by – Wojciech Szczesny.
