The majority of the teams have chosen Poland as their base
Of the 16 teams participating in Euro 2012, all but three have chosen to set up their bases for the tournament in Poland. This has led to some absurd situations; for example, not a single team from Group B is staying in Ukraine, despite all the matches taking place in Lviv and Kharkiv.
The Danes will face a 1,700 km journey for their match against Holland. “We wanted to combine the best facilities for preparation with a pleasant, family atmosphere. In Kolobrzeg, the players should feel almost as if they were at home. The distance to the match isn’t a problem, because we can reach the airport in under an hour,” explained Danish coach Morten Olsen.
