In his New Year address, President Bronislaw Komorowski told the nation that Poles should feel proud of their country.
His speech focused on a number of issues, one of which being the country’s economic situation which he said has played a large part in boosting Poland’s profile around the world.
He also looked back at John Paul II’s beatification, claiming it was one of his personal highlights of the year.
“We should all be proud that as well as our tradition of courage and passion for freedom, the rest of the globe can see that our hard work and professional organisation is the reason behind our prosperity,” he said.
