Afghan's secret service is now interrogating the accused
A Taliban fighter, suspected of organising a bomb attack which led to the deaths of five Polish soldiers has been caught by American and Afghan special forces.
Reports in Gazeta Wyborcza state that the men, part of the 20th Mechanised Brigade, were killed on December 21 last year whilst travelling in the war-torn country.
“Mashahud [the captured man] was arrested while trying to escape to take refuge on the Afghan-Pakistan border in the province of Nangarhar,” said Captain Dariusz Guzenda, an official spokesman for the Polish Task Force in Afghanistan.
It is believed that Mashahud was aided by others and he is now being questioned by the country’s secret service.
