The singer has been told to pay PLN 5,000
Popular media darling Doda has been ordered to pay a PLN 5,000 fine after “insulting religious feelings”.
Gazeta Wyborcza reports that the singer, real name Dorota Rabczewska, was told to pay up by a Warsaw court for comments she made in 2009 during an interview with dziennik.pl.
Referring to the bible, she allegedly stated that it was “difficult to believe something that had been written by someone hammered on wine and who had been smoking herbs”.
The singer claims the herbs she was referring to were “therapeutic” and the wine, “sacramental wine”.
The paper states she is now appealing the decision.
