Kowalczyk's win has been described as a "crushing victory"
Justyna Kowalczyk left all her rivals trailing in her wake in the 10km cross-country skiing sprint event at Otepaeae in Estonia last Sunday. The victory was so decisive even the Norwegian media were describing it as a “Crushing victory” over their national heroine, Marit Bjoergen.
The win leaves Kowalczyk in second place in the World Cup competition, a mere 62 points behind Bjoergen. It was Kowalczyk’s 19th World Cup victory, but it will be a long time before she catches Bjoergen in that category - the Norwegian has 49 victories under her belt.
