Forty people have been arrested in connection with downloading music illegally from the internet.

Reports state that the arrests all took place in the central town of Otwock (15km southeast of Warsaw) and concern not only downloading the songs, but making them available for others to do the same.

“This was carried out by officers from Otwock and is designed to warn all Internet users about paragraph 1 of Article 116 of the Act on Copyright and Related Rights,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told newspaper Fakt.
