The woman was horrified to find the creatures inside her chocolate
A woman in the east of Poland received the fright of her life this week after finding a number of white worms inside her chocolate.
According to daily Fakt, Maria Melanowicz from the small village of Radcze made the shocking discovery after a shopping trip with her son in the nearby town of Parczew.
She purchased the chocolates having completing her errands but upon taking her first bite, found one of the disgusting creatures hidden inside. A quick check reveled that more worms were contained in the rest of the sweets.
“It was not possible to eat them,” she says. “I called my son to show him that something was wrong. We tried another and another and saw that these ugly worms were crawling out of them. I had to stop myself from vomiting.”
Together with her son, Maria took the chocolates, drove to the local newspaper and contacted the State Sanitary Inspection (PIS).
“We can indeed confirm what the lady says is true. Inside the sweets were a number of worms. The whole batch has since been withdrawn,” states Jan Bondar, a spokesman for PIS.
It has not yet been established exactly how the creatures came to be inside the chocolates, although the issue is now being investigated.
