This has been Stoch's "best ever season" according to his trainer
Kamil Stoch is being tipped by trainer Wojciech Fortuna for a possible gold medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics in two years’ time. “It’s Kamil’s best ever season. He’s stood on the podium seven times in the World Cup, winning twice. He’s fourth in the general classification. It’s a joy to see him steadily developing. I remember when he surprised everybody by jumping over 130m on Wielka Krokwa as a 12-year-old. Even then people said he was a special talent.
Stoch won last Sunday’s World Cup event in Predazzo, Italy, having been seventh the day before. Stoch lay third after the first round behind the German jumper Andreas Wank, but outjumped the entire field in the second round, recording 131.5m to take the victory.
