A gang of bootleggers busted across southern Poland by the police and the Border Guard this week made alcohol out of paint thinner, dirty pond water and runoff from lime production.

A gang of bootleggers busted across southern Poland by the police and the Border Guard this week made alcohol out of paint thinner, dirty pond water and runoff from lime production. According to the police, the gang’s products ended up passed off as genuine vodka at markets and bazaars across the country. During the raid officers arrested six suspects, ranging in age from 28 to 64, and secured 2600 litres of alcohol, labels of various brands of spirits, as well as tax stickers and bottle caps.
