Firemen battled soaring summer temperatures to cool down a Krakow children’s hospital after its air conditioning failed early on Wednesday morning, Radio Zet reported. A spokesman for the local fire service said they sprayed water on the building’s windows for hours while also spreading insulating sheets across the walls to keep the heat out, in a bid to secure conditions for critical patients inside. Temperatures in Krakow meanwhile were topping 30°C in the sun.
