A priest who attempted to sell an 18th-century figure of the Virgin Mary that had disappeared from a Silesian parish where he served as vicar in 2004 may soon face charges of trading in stolen goods.

A priest who attempted to sell an 18th-century figure of the Virgin Mary that had disappeared from a Silesian parish where he served as vicar in 2004 may soon face charges of trading in stolen goods, the daily Gazeta Wrocławska reported this week. Several weeks ago investigators identified the figure at an internet auction and traced it back to the priest, whose name was not released.
