Charges Presented Against Soldiers

Military prosecutors on Wednesday presented their case against seven Polish soldiers accused of shelling the Afghan village of Nangar Khel and killing six civilians last year. The case is the first of its kind for the Polish army, for which the Iraqi and Afghan wars have been the first real combat since the Second World War.
Prosecutors revealed drastic details of the incident at a news conference on Wednesday, including descriptions of wounds suffered by the victims. Most of those killed were women and children, including two toddlers.
