Police in Piaseczno have arrested a 48-year-old man who reported his Mercedes as stolen after he took it apart and buried it in his garden. Juliusz L. made the report on Sunday evening, but the details of his story raised the duty officer’s suspicions. After intense questioning, the man admitted that he had disposed of the car in hopes of collecting on his insurance policy. He was charged with reporting a non-existent crime and giving false testimony.
