Prime Minister Donald Tusk tore into President Lech Kaczyński this week in a frank interview published after Kaczyński allies claimed the government was plotting to impeach him over blocking tactics on cabinet-sponsored legislation.
As predicted by senior figures within Kaczyński’s Law and Justice party before last year’s elections, the president has persistently used his right to veto legislation, blocking cabinet initiatives on healthcare and media law amongst others.
