Govt. commits 'more troops' to Afghanistan campaign

The Polish government has decided to push ahead with plans to expand its 1,600-strong military presence in Afghanistan, but has yet to decide on just how many extra troops will go.Apparently reversing a decision taken last month to halt further deployments owing to the cost-cutting induced by the economic recession, Defence Minister Bogdan Klich said that the extra troops would go to the province of Ghanzi in “late April or early May”.
