Dr Maciej Kowalczyk, the Director of the University Children’s Hospital of Krakow, was awarded the Project HOPE Global Health Partner Award in Washington this week. “It’s hard not to be moved by this when the ceremony takes place only a few steps from the White House, Dr Kowalczyk told TVN, adding that his success came from the “success of the hospital”.

Founded in 1958, Project HOPE (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) is responsible for developing long-term solutions to health problems and “helping people to help themselves”. ...
