Energy issues being addressed

Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with the country’s mining unions this Wednesday to address issues relating to industry taxes and charges.

The PM and unions met to discuss a number of industry issues
According to news station TVN24, Mr Tusk was joined by Deputy Minister of Economy Jerzy Pietrewicz to look discuss taxes, charges and - more generally - the functionality of the country’s fuel and energy sector relating to coal prices. This was the fifth such meeting of its kind with trade unions, with the last one taking place in Katowice on June 5. At the time, the PM is reported to have said that in order to repair the mining industry, the government will avoid drastic measures such as the closure of unprofitable mines.
