Justice Minister firearm scandal

Justice Minister Cezary Grabarczyk resigned from his position this week following on from allegations that he had received a licence for firearms despite not going through the correct channels or taking the appropriate tests.

According to TVN24, the case originally came to light back in 2012 when the Internal Affairs Bureau (BSW) were looking into traffic corruption incidents in the central city of Lodz. Whilst monitoring phone calls, one trail led to Head of the Department of Administrative Proceedings for the Regional Police Headquarters Zbigniew K. and a conversation regarding the arrangement of weapon permits.
