Poland’s police and intelligence services have launched an intensive manhunt for a secret service officer, amid mounting concerns that the man may have fallen into the hands of a foreign power.

Stefan Zielonka left his Warsaw flat in mid-April, and since then nothing has been seen of the 52-year-old signals officer.

The problem for the secret services is that Zielonka has a mind packed with all kinds of sensitive information.
