A planned demonstration to be held in Gdansk by shipyard workers at the 20th anniversary celebrations of the fall of communism has been cancelled.

A planned demonstration to be held in Gdansk by shipyard workers at the 20th anniversary celebrations of the fall of communism has been cancelled.

According to officials, a gathering and mass have been planned in front of the shipyard workers monument outside the gates of the yard on June 4 instead.  

The decision came after PM Tusk decided to move celebrations from Gdansk to Krakow, amid fears that it could turn into a battle between police and trade unionists.
