Another week and another arrest in the ongoing corruption saga gripping Polish football.

The latest head to roll is that of Janusz Z., a top flight referee from the town of Opole. Over 200 people have now been charged, including a former Champions League ref, one-time national coach Janusz Wojcik and a number of players, managers and boardroom officials. Last month saw 17 people convicted of match fixing and bribery, including referee Ryszard F. who was sent down for three and half years. The former chairman of Arka Gdynia, Jacek F., was named as the svengali behind the racket, and ordered to spend four years behind bars. ...
