Stars get higher compensation pay outs than injury victims
22nd May 2009A court ruling is supposed to discourage others from violating a celebrity’s privacy. If the court awards a low amount, it will only encourage other tabloids to interfere in the celebrity’s private life

According to the paper, people left handicapped or injured as a result of a car accident can receive up to PLN 5,000 in compensation; a person wrongly accused and jailed for 3 months can claim up to PLN 2,000.
But celebrities who find photos of themselves splashed over the tabloids claim up to ten times this and sometimes more, says the report.
