Only 313 foreigners living in Poland have registered to vote for the European Parliament this June.
According to Polish and EU election law, all foreigners over the age of 18 have the right to vote, but out of the estimated 10,000 EU citizens with permanent residency in Poland, only one percent chose to exercise this right in either European or local elections.
“The deadline passed on April 9th 2009,” Lech Gejzler from National Electoral Commission told Polish Radio.
“But those who submit their names now can be sure that they will be on the list for the next election.” ...
