Despite the low turnout, last Sunday’s European elections still managed to provide a certain amount of local colour. In their summaries of the results numerous newspaper reports helpfully explained that across the country Civic Platform (PO) took the urban, educated vote, suggesting by a logical extension that the Law and Justice (PiS) electorate is composed of uneducated yokels.
