A book of counting rhymes for children has been slammed for being racist and xenophobic.


“Entliczek, pentliczek - the best Polish rhymes” by Joanna Furgalinska includes rhymes such as “One, two, three...all Germans are full of lice”, “Where are you going gypsy? I’m going to buy some kids” or “A naked Jew was kicked out of school, and everyone saw the Jew was poor.”

Child psychologist Malgorzaty Ohme told Dziennik, “This sort of book destroys all the work of child educators. Words help create the child’s view of the world - so kids will accept it all literally.”
