Wimbledon looms for Radwanska

Agnieszka Radwanska crashed out of the WTA Eastbourne Tournament at the quarter final stage after losing in straight sets to Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano 7-6, 7-5.

Razzano, who beat the top seed Elena Dementieva on Wednesday, was made to work all the way by the defending champion, with Radwanska successfully overcoming three match points before finally running out steam. In spite of the setback Radwanska remains upbeat, claiming the subject of her focus is the Wimbledon Championships, which start next week. ‘Our goal was to make the quarter final’, said the Polish number one, ‘and I’m treating this competition solely as a warm up for Wimbledon’.
