Lodz born Marcin Gortat became the first Pole ever to play in the NBA Finals, representing the Orlando Magic in all five games against the LA Lakers.

Gortat, a veritable giant at 211 centimetres, came on for superstar Dwight Howard and averaged eleven minutes per game according to reports on Polskie Radio.
