Gortat’s star rises

Lodz born Marcin Gortat became the first Pole ever to play in the NBA Finals, representing the Orlando Magic in all five games against the LA Lakers. Gortat, a veritable giant at 211 centimetres, came on for superstar Dwight Howard and averaged eleven minutes per game according to reports on Polskie Radio. The ‘Polish Hammer’ performed credibly blocking five points, setting up 13 rebounds, and scoring 16 himself.
