The Krakow news this week has put its foot in it – right in it. The problem of dog pooh has yet to be seriously tackled by any city in Poland, but Krakow aims to be the first, instituting a coordinated campaign to clean up the city’s streets and parks. An estimated six tons of dog waste lands on Krakow pavements daily, but in future any owners who fail to scoop the poop will face a PLN 500 fine.
